MyPyramid Healthy Eating Tips for Kids:


  • Regularly choose whole-grain foods such as whole-wheat bread, oatmeal and low-fat popcorn
  • Vary your veggies. Eat a variety of vegetables especially those that are dark green and orange
  • Enjoy fruits. Eat fruits for meals and snacks. Limit fruit juice.
  • Get your calcium. Build strong bones by enjoying low-fat and fat-free milk products each day
  • Choose lean protein. Eat lean or low-fat meat and poultry. Enjoy beans and peas.
  • Choose healthy oils such as corn, soybean, canola and olive oil for cooking
  • Avoid extra sugar. Choose foods that do not have sugar and caloric sweeteners as one of the first ingredients. Avoid sugary drinks

About Executive Management Services

Vision

Executive Management Services (EMS) for nearly two decades has improved the foodservice operations for hundreds of nonprofit and for profit agencies serving thousands of people across the country. We believe that every qualified person in every qualified setting should have access to nutritious meals and these programs. EMS will be a leading force in the acquisition of government funding to support these foodservice operations through education, innovation, and technology.

Goals

  • Identify and communicate services, benefits and programs through a variety of methods to members and non-members.
  • Develop and articulate advocacy programs that enhance foodservice operations to specific audiences.
  • Develop new and/or improve existing programs in conjunction with government regulations and the needs of our membership.
  • Develop a nationwide information database for the foodservice professional.
  • Articulate all programs and services on an easy to use format.
